The squares of the block represent the homes that were in the community. The star points, which come together in the center of the quilt block, represent the patrons of the old country store. Neighbors who would come there to purchase their feed and supplies and to have a time to socialize; either by talking, playing cards around the pot belly stove or just by a friendly wave and a nod; it was a place to come together.
