As the 7th child of Clem and Anna Smith, a family of 10 children was raised on this Whips Cove farm. Daddy taught school and Mom was a wonderful homemaker. Both were examples of God’s desire as to how to raise children. Dad expanded the barn in the late 20’s and early 30’s. After teaching a few years, my husband Bob and I started building and remodeling homes. So the choice for a geometric square named “Carpenter’s Square” was perfect. This square speaks to me: Life is a simple design, yet God controls the squares.
