As newlyweds, Flora Mellott wanted us to have an antique bed from her house. She at the time was close to 90 years old and living with Loren's Mom and Dad, Velma and Vernon Leese. Flora told us to take the bed, the quilt that was on it and what was under the bed. To our surprise we found a beautiful antique bed covered by a quilt that Flora had made herself done in the Double Z pattern. And under the bed was believe it or not a chamber pot! 

   Flora was a large part of Vernon's childhood, as he was a foster child in her household.
