The Robert C. Golden farm was built over 100 years ago with Robert taking ownership from his father in 1946.  They ran a small dairy farm, milking 30 head of cattle until 1984. Today the
farm is maintained by members of the Golden family to sustain a small herd of beef cattle and even a few honey bee hives.  Robert's family continues to reside on the farm and can be found helping to carry on his heritage.

The quilt pattern "Honey Bee" was altered slightly to represent the family of Robert and Ida
Golden.  The honey bees represent their three children; the flower petals are their five grandchildren; and the squares in the center section represent their ten great-grandchildren with the center square being divided to represent a set of twins.

"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left.  No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man."
